THE BACK STORY
One of a 6 part suite once commissioned by a distant DNA relative and which has been accepted into several juried exhibitions, including 2 in the 2025’s 23rd Japan International Art Exchange curated by Julienne Johnson at the TOKYO METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART. This particular gentleman is the grandfather of my paternal grandfather who originally immigrated from his birth country of Belarus to England. Ghosting his right and left are hints of two of his children after the loss of their anchor, the wife and mother.
***I’d like to thank Julienne Johnson curator of JAPAN INTERNATIONAL ART EXCHANGE, for all her faith and encouragement she has show me over the years. I’d also like to acknowledge and thank Julienne for all her tireless hours working to assist artists like me, achieve our dreams.***
