TITLE: INDEPENDENT WOMAN OF 94
While waiting in a COVID line just to enter a supermarket, I carried on a conversation with the 94 year ole lady in front of me. As she began to move, with grace, into the store, I noticed her arms as compared to my own, which I thought were old looking. I took away from that moment, how beautiful aging can be once looked at from beyond the personal point of view.

THE BACK STORY
TITLE: WE ALL BLEED THE SAME
With an old torn found canvas that was already painted black, I decided to pour a small can of Rust-oleum Cherry Red across the canvas. While the paint was dry, some of the paint began to drip on the ground. Once dry, I slowly peeled the paint off the ground, allowing it to remain attached to the canvas. This particular piece was created at the height of “unrest” during the national episode “Black Lives Matter”.

THE BACK STORY:
TITLE: LIFE’S GRAND CANYON - DINÉ WOMAN
Painted in 1969’s when I had not idea how to blend colors, I began this painting thinking of the skin layers I noticed in Rembrandt paintings. Then I started looking at my own hands. In the layers the endoderm I could see so many colors. I’ve always loved this painting as it could be a woman or man. It could be a person from many different cultures. This face is universal and also captures a lifetime of hard living and harsh elements. My inventory number shows that this was my fourth painting and just before I moved to California.
